Wan Min, chairman of Cosco Shipping, stated that Tianjin has unique geographical and port advantages, offering vast potential for cooperation between the two sides.

Cosco Shipping will continue to deepen practical collaboration with Tianjin, accelerate the development of Tianjin into an international shipping hub in northern China, and support the integrated development of the port, industries, and urban areas in Tianjin, thereby better facilitating the implementation of national strategies.

The establishment of the North China regional headquarter is a significant initiative of Cosco Shipping to better serve the coordinated development of the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region, reduce overall social logistics costs, and empower regional economic growth.

Zhu Bixin, general manager of Cosco Shipping, said that the North China Regional Headquarters covers Beijing, Tianjin, Hebei, and central-western Inner Mongolia, as well as Shanxi and Henan.

Cosco Shipping will leverage the North China regional headquarter as a bridge to further utilize the group’s comprehensive advantages in shipping, ports, and logistics, as well as its strong industry influence.

Meanwhile, Cosco Shipping and Tianjin have reached into agreement to develop large vessel offshore engineering repair and manufacturing base project locally, enhancing the service capacity of the northern international shipping center and supporting Tianjin’s goal of “building a world-class smart and green port.”

Located at the Tianjin port free trade zone, the project is designed with three docks and seven berths to facilitate the repair and modification of large vessels and offshore engineering equipment, which will also be able to expand into offshore engineering assembly and green shipbuilding base.
